Re: NOW - Florida - National Public Lands Day Event

WOW! We had a blast!! I cannot thank everyone who showed up to help out enough. We got a lot accomplished for the park. We got to know old friends better and make new friends at the same time.

I took pictures of the work we did with someone else's camera. I hope to get some pictures from him but I don't have any to post. I got pictures of our "down time" with my camera. I'll post them in Recreational Climbing.

I hope that we can continue this every year. And I hope it grows exponentially. And I would encourage all of you to get involved somehow in your own communities; whether you do something statewide like we did, or just get some guys and go to an elementary school and repel out of their rafters into the cafetorium. It's ALL good!!!

Thank you:
Scotty and Joanne, Debbie and Terry, Traffic Cone, Kim and Robert and Martin her brothers and Laurie, Martin's wife, Brian, Belle, Kris and Chris, Eric, Tino, Adam, Henry, Dean, Aaron, Glen, John, Steve, Tony and Donny from the park, and all the volunteers from the park who fixed us breakfast and lunch and hung out with us on the job. Thanks also to Gemini Apparel for helping out with the t-shirts, and the Key Agency for $$$, Construction Rental for donating the lift for the weekend. Kim again for all the FOOD - Awesome Sunday Breakfast!! And all the women who watched all the kids while we were out in the field. You are the best!

You guys all TOTALLY ROCK!!

Re: NOW - Florida - National Public Lands Day Event

Many Thank Yous for a job well done. We made a couple newspapers and a tv news station. FLtreeman and BGpalmbeach were on TV. Many people in the area have come up to me to say they saw us on the news. It was a great time. The work that the park received would simply NOT have been done without us. The party after was great too. We rented a bounce house for the kids, and set up a 100' zipline from an oak tree to the back of my bucket truck. For those of you who were there...I talked to the park and told them of the problems with lunch. They apologized for sort of dropping the ball with that. They had plenty of food at 12 noon, but not at 2pm. I don't know what happened, but I had disscussed this with them several times. Lunch is at 2pm for us. Many of us did get food... some did not. They said "this would NOT happen again". If we do this again next year, I will be sure to "hold their hand" on this. Any way Thank You again. Don and Terri Greene
