Floppin a big dead cottonwood

some pics of a cottonwood we dropped this summer. Partially hollow and dead as could be. Surely glad this wasn't over the top of a house.

Just drop it. It was located in horse pasture. The owners used a back hoe to push the debris where they wanted it. We cut it to manageable sized pieces.

BTW, everyone involved in the job on our sites wears steel toed boots. Is that not a Reg where you are?

to my knowledge steel toed boots are not a requirement here. However I do recommend good boots. I personally don't care for steel toed boots. The guy in the pic was a part time helper this summer and was delegated to driving the pickup to pull the tree over.

It's nice when you don't have to climb just notch and watch.. We just got back from a job were we had a large dead pondorosa pine that we just drop and it was a rush...

Old growth , where was that at ?... I have taken some down that size myself, except I had to climb them and take thm out in 16'to 20' pieces .
