Fixed tending point on akimbo

Hello all,

tried out my buddys akimbo for a week absolutely fell in love with it the outfit I’m with is going to purchase me one now only thing I didn’t like was the tending point popping out I get it and it wasnt a matter of poor technique while ascending it was literally the initial clip In I’d have to step up on my foot ascender and clip in real quick the device sits a little higher then my hitch climber so if I just clip in my initial step it pops out looking for feedback on that and ofcourse guys who have set up their akimbo with a FIXED tending point I’ve seen it on threads a long time ago but can’t track it down now.

If you put a wanted add up, someone might sell you an earlier Akimbo when they were pre-ordered via GoFundMe. They’re not much different at all.

I think Rock Exotica changed that because there was worry someone might use that bit for a life support application.

A couple drops of carefully applied super glue to the spring pivot points and one on the front contact point has worked for me. It is also easily reversible if for some reason you don't like it.

A real hillbilly hack I did: I tied a very small loop of throw line ( just big enough to hook into with my chest harness snap) onto the little wire gate. Was supposed to be a temporary fix to get through the day and it’s been on for couple years now.

My first comp, thought the new akimbo would be the jam for speed ascent…. Thing popped off 3 times on my way up…. Hence my 2nd comp guaranteed to be better.

Jonny the go fund me akimbo is the bomb… love it… i keep it like a museum piece never wanna wear it out.
