Good point kathy. What are the advantages of having a womens section on treebuzz? I'm guessing that this forum was opened because of the responses to the womens clothing thread but what else could be mentioned here on this forum that would only relate to women climbers? I'm not knocking the forum just wondering what could possibly be discussed here and not in the other gender open forums

i guess we'll see, eh?

i think part of the point, which lots of guys just don't get, is that it's intimidating to be a woman in a field dominated (98%?) by men. i think what i've been reading in the last week or so on TB is that there are women who would feel more comfortable speaking up in a forum like this. aside from that, we have awakenings to talk about near accidents, we have rigging and roping to talk about rigging, and this is just another forum to talk about issues of particular interest to women. a place for us to meet each other.

i give huge kudos to the TB leadership for making this forum happen. now women have an easy online place to network. way cool.

Welcome Gals,
I think it’s intimidating to begin posting in any forum let alone one dominated by the opposite sex.
I was hesitant to make my first post here because of past experiences with other forums, where if you didn’t dot your I’s or cross your T’s you would get jumped on.
I have never seen any bashing here. In fact I think the Buzz is the friendliest and well-run forum that I have visited period.
I wouldn’t hesitate to ask for advise or add to a topic on the TreeBuzz.
I do hope the WOTT section helps to bring out the women here and throughout the Buzz.

Right on Kathy! WAY COOL is right. After talking with some of the gals over here in the Western Chapter, I came to find out that some of them have been on the Buzz but never chimed in. They seemed excited to see a forum where we can discuss WOTT happenings and a place to get to know other ladies out there.
I think this is a great way to get the word out about WOTT for both men and women. Thanks TB Team for making it happen!!!!
