First Double Braid Splice

Its the bumps, lumps, and twists that worry me. Even if it closes just fine.
So I test to make sure.

So, robinia, do you do these tests yourself? Somewhat informally, using a come-along with maybe one of those load cells attached, I think they call it? Do you try to pull it until it breaks?

Thanks for any answers you choose to provide. You might be the first person I've read about that tries to do his own testing, so I'm interested in your process. It sure would remove a bunch of hassle from having to send stuff off in the mail to get it pulled to destruction. Thanks again.

Sorry that wording might have been misleading...
I don't test myself, I get them sent out.

The only in house 'testing' I do is smashing other splices as hard as I can rigging wood.
And early on I pulled on them with a 1.5 ton come along. That only provides 3000lb pull but it provides piece of mind in regards to any potential creep.
