Field Supervisors ( Lawn/ PHC Supervisor & Trim Supervisor)

Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care is hiring a Pruning Field Supervisor and a Lawn / PHC Supervisor, we've been in business since 1947 and we have opened a new branch in the Denver / Boulder area, we're the leading Landscape Care company in the northern Colorado front-range area, and we're seeking an experienced professional to help lead, develop & direct our tree pruning and removal operations. Requirements are as follows:


POSITION SUMMARY:



The Operations Field Supervisor provides daily leadership and supervision to the operations team members and ensures customers are satisfied and retained. The Operations Field Supervisor does this by contributing towards a safe, productive, and profitable environment. By working closely with the other key team members in the areas of training, documentation, employee development, and company policy enforcement the Operations Field Supervisor helps achieve and maintain the maximum levels of safety, productivity, and quality for the services provided to customers. With assistance and guidance from the management team the Operations Field Supervisor will be responsible for initial and ongoing training of approximately 8-15 employees and for developing and implementing company operations and policies. Each Operations Field Supervisor will primarily be assigned to work in either the Protection Services Division or Enhancement Services Division with a specialization in one or more of the different departments within that Division but all Operations Field Supervisors are also expected to cross-train in non-specialized areas (department & division) when deemed necessary. Department Specialties within the Enhancement Services Division include: Shade Tree, Ornamental Pruning, Landscape, Décor, and Irrigation. Department Specialties within the Protection Services include: Lawns, Bed & Border, Plant Health Care, and Aerates.

NECESSARY SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:

· Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy. Able to stay calm, even tempered, and not take things personally during stressful situations.
· Must also be able to respond quickly and stay calm in potential hazardous areas/situations.
· Be committed to high quality performance including accuracy and thoroughness while working safely and efficiently.
· Commitment to maintaining safe workplace environment and awareness of surrounding environment in order to identify potential hazards.

· Employee must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the English Language.
· Intermediate math and calculator skills are required.
· Ability to operate standard office equipment and IT systems and programs (including but not limited to copier, fax machine, network computers/printers, Internet, and email). This includes being knowledgeable with Microsoft Word and Excel minimally at an intermediate level. Employee will also be asked to learn proprietary software (EverGreen and possibly our Decor applications).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Operations Field Supervisor directly supervises 8-15 hourly non-exempt employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; managing time off requests, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Two-Year or Four-Year College Degree Horticulture, Plant Sciences or related field preferred.
· A minimum of 1-3 years working the Green Industry is required.
· A minimum of 2-4 years supervisory experience and/or training preferred.
· A valid Driver's License with a clean motor vehicle record is required. CDL preferred.
· The ability to drive an automatic and/or manual transmission and pass a Swingle driving test is also required.
· Department of Agriculture Qualified Supervisor License required for any Supervisor hired to directly supervise any Pesticide Applicators.
