There has been some talk RE rings for making false crotches.
I had heard before that the un-anodized rings will wear over time and become compromised.
At TCIA I heard that the hard anodized rings will wear through at a single point and the EDGES of the wear point will be super sharp, which will cut off the fuzz from your line and maybe cut into your line over time.
so the design guy I talked to switched over to the un-anodized ones...FYI
