Faceshield.

WileyX glasses with gaskets and head strap. Still have my first pair 4 years later. Pretty scratched up but still do the job. I very RARELY have anything in my eyes even when the wind blows. Ebay for cheap.
The Wiley's rock. I have a pair with the light changing lenses. I got em free just for playing in the sand box. The only problem is that once you start heating up the lenses fog up. Some Ops Drops or Cat Crap will keep them from fogging up.

I picked up a Kask Smoke visor this winter and really like it. The tint is perfect for cutting out the sun, but you can still see really well even when the sun is setting. A lot of times I forget that I have it down and try to adjust my glasses, only to hit the visor.

It keeps a lot more dust out of your eyes, it keeps the cold winds out of your face and blowing into your helmet, looks awesome (I like looking like I fly jets/spacecraft when I'm not climbing trees), and adds a good amount of protection from whipping branches, etc. I can only speak for winter work, but it hasnt fogged up at all yet.

The only thing I don't like is that it didnt go on very easily (lining up the tabs, tightening them with them aligned, etc.) so I don't want to take it off. If I decided not to use it for a day, I would just keep it on, which will end up getting it scratched up pretty well (The top of my last Kask was scratched up, and good chances are that most helmets that see a few days of work are too). I also wish I could use my headlamp clips on the Kask, for night climbs, though its not a huge deal.

If anyone is debating getting the Kask smoke visor, I highly recommend it. Perfect tint, doesnt fog, and they havent scratched, even after I felt some hard hits on it thinking that I will find a scratch when I pull it off.

Heres a picture at sunset, could see perfectly fine through the visor.

I wear the clear face shield(not the mesh shield) on the protos, I can't say I recommend it. even with anti fog applied the moisture it trapped from my breath formed ice to the point it was unclear to see out of. it works ok up until that point for about the first hour in a tree. I bought it to cut down on the wind burn, it has helped a little. I will either be removing it completely or reinstalling the mesh shield that came with it

I have been talking to my work friend today about the fact that goggles or safety glasses sit further back than the edge of helmet, and don't interfere with climbing.
I wonder if the manufacturers can modernise the mesh, clear or new technology products.
