There have been comments made on Ryan's cabling article elsewhere on Treebuzz. Comments can be read there. I doubt it is worth repeating, we can see that people are not really interested in the article as Ryan is a friend of theirs, or they don't know what I have written, thus there is no need to read, understand, and comment on the problems of the article.

I've read the comments. What I haven't see is you post an example of your writing. I am sure that I could tear it apart though, and question your credentials while I'm at it.

I understand the problems with the article I just think it is more fun to mess with a cybertuffguykeyboardhero like yourself.................

second that. if you have nothing but cynicism and sarcasm to contribute to the ongoing dialogues here... then why are you here? have a little respect people - this is a forum that was built and is maintained with high standards and integrity. the intended topic of the forum is treework and tree-related issues. petty attacks and posturing belong somewhere else. c'mon guys.

Okay guys, I hate to see mrtree go honestly. I've followed a lot of his responses and do believe that I've learned a lot from them. so hopefully he won't take off because he has a lot of valuable info to share, I believe. Everybody gets heated and critical, so let's allow some room for that, okay :)

Guy can be abrasive, and that's not a put down. It's his style.

He keeps whining about being attacked and nobody's actually attacked him. In fact, the quote above is by far the worst attack in this thread. Maybe he's really really smart and knows tons about trees... but he needs to grow up a little bit, grow a thicker skin.

Personal attacks like the one above are what break down online communities and are pretty much taboo on any well run board. I mod on a photography site and there, that post would get you banned for a week.

Diversity of opinion on a forum is great, scrapping is not. It's no difficult task to be civil when when you're typing a response... if you can't argue peacefully, you shouldn't argue. Whining and insults won't get a point across.

Don't get me wrong, fighting can be fun and all but it's better done in person in a bar or a campground with plenty of alcohol around to numb blows and make everybody love each other when it's done.

I totally agree with Blinky it would seem odd to me if mrtree did decide to no longer contribute on the basis of reactions to his flaming.....I too have gained much from mrtrees input on many varied topics, I have however repeatedly pointed out that without the use of smilies it is very possible to misinterpret the intention of a post. Most of us don't know each other...I don't actually know any of you!....we all have different motives for posting and reading posts, wanting to have an arguement and get personal with someone you don't know and probably will never know seems someone disfunctional to me.

So my 2 cents is don't go mrtree just chill a little you'd probably find in the flesh more in common with all these guys and gals than you think. But for heavens sake try to use some means of indicating your intonation if you don't intend to offend...and if you do intend to offend well ok, but you'll have to wear the consequences. (and yes I'm well aware noone asked me for my opinion
