ergovation back pad?

I just picked up an ergovation at the CTPA show 2? weeks ago. I took it apart to size up to my body and so forth... I just started climbing in it, and the "orthopedic" in the back pad is doing a number on me. Has anybody else experienced back pain after using this saddle? I just dumped a bunch of money on it, and would hate to get rid of it so soon at a loss. Any input would be most helpful.

You forgot to buy the helium pads that help you float up the tree. What the hell is a matter with you. You have to buy the extras also, to make the saddle fit and feel right.

Nice buy gear tard. I have a saw that is the weight of a MS200 that'll cut 28" wood, care to buy it?

the dudes that designed that saddle are all about climber comfort and proper body geometrics. i think his name is ed carpenter i bet if you hit him up he would tell you exactly what you are doing wrong on the fit up

Yea it's called climbing with it, Thanks for your 4-500 hunder though. Hey sell it on tree Buzz to the next maroon.

I think you should try to fit it properly because it is a very comfortable harness and I never\ heard anyone with the same compaint. Jeff is right, try to get in touch with Ed Carpenter if you can, because I have never found Buckhingham tech support to be very helpful.

Hey Hl,

How is feeling on your back? Is it digging in to the lower back?

Have you been doing mainly removals with it on spikes?

I personally love the saddle and that pad, but when I first got it another climber said thier is know way he could wear it with that pad in it. I do have a kind of a dip in my lower back. I dont know

But how about trying it with out the pad and putting something softer in the slot?

A frozen sports gel pack is nice in there on a hot day! I haven't had any problems with the lumbar pad in my ergo. There are lots of adjustments to get the fit dialed in, but once it's there...NICE!!

Just bought one 4-6 weeks ago...great saddle took a couple of hour fooling around with the adjustments to get it right..also had to do a little climbing in between to adjust it further...providing that you took the cd out of the back pad slot (this is where they pack it for shipping). try it without the pad or with an ice pack instead. re-check the adjustments... it is IMO a great piece of equipment once adjust I have had no problems... be patient, spend the time i would bet you'll agree...

With the "orthopedic" in there it feels like I am leaning back against a rock. I'll try removing it and see how that feels... doesn't seem like there's much padding in there though with that piece gone.

I have the opposite experience... The back pad feels awesome! I still use my butterfly for most climbs, but the ergo is in the mix for removals and climbing out of the bucket.
