Environment in the PNW

First the town Lytton sets heat records and then promptly burns to the ground. Then I learn a new term Heat Dome. Then there's floods galore. Seems to be an ever increasing records broken with forest fires. Mixed with stretches of drought. And another new phrase Atmospheric River which apparently is getting ranking intensity numbers like typhoons etc. Last year or maybe also other years(?) the coast highway 101(?) washed out pretty badly. Now coastal B.C is under another precipitation warning.

Anyone on the ground there been keeping track of all this? I think the trends are matching up Stateside and in Canada. Would like to hear from locals for their perspective.

Eh, this is certainly a wet winter, but pretty normal for a La Niña year.
Yes we are getting hammered with the oddity like the heat wave, highway 101 is a fragile road which gets many mudslides. The atmospheric rivers are also very much normal (but much more frequent in La Niña years)
 
Re-wind, breeeddiibitdipzip, re-post almost to the year. Maybe a pattern is forming in the weather. California is hurting right now.

Ryan this is the best post I have ever read on the buzz..... I had a wonderful laugh..... global warming my rasshole...we are not that fucking important.
 
Well, can aways wait for next year. Hope I don't three-peat the post. Seems like shit is going down.
edit - 19 dead and state of emergency. I guess those 19 people concurred with your advice.

Heard there was concern for the old growth trees too. Be a shame.
