Elm on a school ahhhhhhhh!!!

http://youtu.be/uTAOdrXbw3U

Large elm branch snapped and took out some wires, landed on the roof of this school. Tree had DED on one lead so we ended up removing the whole tree. The branch that broke was 4200 lbs. The spreading elms like this one amaze me how they support their weight. Was a fun on except for the temps nearing 100. I don't know how you guys down south deal with this heat all the time. I'll be happy when it gets back down below 80.

This was 7 hours start to finsh, I love watching days play back in minutes. 15 yards of chips and 30,000+ lbs of wood. Also a quick visit from Larry "bub" taking a used 1590 demo back. My poor little 90 doesn't compare to a 1590...

There is definitely a boo boo in here, see if you can find it. It's not ppe related but the safety police can beat me up if they want.

Ya good eye. I was signaling boom down, to get the sling out further, the op was watching me and didn't notice the boom sat right on the lamp. I can't believe I didn't see it coming.

I don't think you need to worry about cambium damage Casey.

Great video.

What about the guy taking a wrap on the street pole when they didn't want the butt swinging out of control?

Ha! Love how you never miss a thing! Reminds me of having to strap the portable winch to a fire hydrant to skid brush up a steep hill... are those rated?

Marlin, its a Brinno time lapse camera http://www.brinno.com/html/TLC200.html

Phil, there wasn't much to tie into there =). I just wrapped my climbing line around the limb below where I was cutting. Not ideal but if for some reason I slid off I would have dangled and slid down the branch some.

We finally had some storms roll through last Thursday, been storm work ever since!!

Brendon, it was set on 1 frame every 2 seconds. It turned into around a 14 minute video. I adjusted the playback speed to around 250% I think. I just started playing around with the playback speed in premier pro on the last 2 or 3 timelapses I have done. It really helps them come out smooth and very watchable.

I really want to do some new pruning time lapse but they just don't turn out good when the trees are leafed out.
