Echo CS 8000 with 36 inch bar

HI fellow arborists,

has anyone been using the Echo CS 8000 with a 36 inch bar ?

what are you likes and dislikes about this saw ??

I am not going to need it more than once a week on average, so I do not want to spend thousands of dollars for a 36 inch bar saw..

thanks
joe

I say run a Husky 390 or 395 or a Stihl 660, might be a little bigger sticker price at the beginning, but for a big wood saw without droping a huge ammount on say a 3120 or 880 its a great choice, it really has the nuts to pull longer chain. In addition with it running 3/8 chain, you can run any other bar from other medium/large saws you have.

There was a 395 listed for sale in the treebay forum if you check that out.

i was wondering the same. it doesnt have the power of a 880 or anything up there in price, but i would say if you do get one, let me know how that runs, i think it would work well with a 30 in bar for sure. Echos are not really built to withstand a lot of abuse like a stihl or husky would, but if you take care of it that would not be a problem.

i use echo and stihl chainsaws . surprisingly i have less problems with my echos . they are always reliable . have gone through several stihls but my echos keep on running . if you are not going to be using the saw all the time make sure you use some type of fuel stabilizer .
