Easy up

# Five

The secret to this technique is longer rope and to use the end of your climbing line to form the loop to make the false crotch.

I may only be able to get seven through at this time because my file size apparently is to large. A little help on resizing from the pros?

Anyhow picture six.

It looks like six went through so here's seven. It shows the complete set up. This mechanical advantage can be also used for lifting loads upwards.

Again more on that when requested.

You know "Advice not asked for is seldom wanted".

Anyway # seven sums up the set up. It can have varible parts, that is your decision. This much I know it works for me and I hope it works for you as well. I know in fact it works for me so if your having difficulty comprehending this set up contact me. We'll see how we can help you work through the problems and make the connections.

I'm gonna try # eight but really it is five so reinsert this one in the sequence of your mind. When tying the loop if it comes up a little short pull it back to the ground and enlarge your bowline loop. Adjustable false crotch.

The break open puley from Petzel is sweet to say the least.

After you form the loop reach and grab the two lines that will enable you to pull the pulley upwards and around the limb. It won't take long if you apply yourself enough.

Again make sure your limb attachment point is secure. Most often then not this technique is retrieved from the ground easely. Sometimes it is necessary to jiggle the rope with a little force to persuade it a little. Pick your tree crotchs carefully. If the tree crotch is to tigh and only a single line can pass through the tree crotch I have a solution if your interested?

Okay I figured it out, how to resize a photo, now the question is will I remember the next time I need it? I hope so? Options is the key go to options and resize the image.

I do hope that some of you will find this info helpful someday. It is not just for the old and feble it is also for the pioneers of the profession. You can be big and strong only so long, why put off using your brain for a change? It may take a few momments to set up the first couple of times but it becomes second hand after a while.

If their is a will, their is a way.

I have used a variety of pieces of equipment in these set ups for varying applications. Different tree spieces may limit its use because of branch strength and attachment angle.

Technique number one- A climbing line installed from the ground in a static retrievable false crotch with a climbing line set in a pulley.

One more for the heck of it. This pic shows how things are spread out on the attachment points where it connects to the Paw on my saddle. This helps things from getting tangled up. Either use a pole pruner to extent the microasender up the line or tie a throwline to the microascender loop and raise the pulley up the line that way. This technique works with the two ring friction saver also. Just set the climbing line and the throwline in the same set of rings. Another story for another day.

Keeping you folks on the edge of your seats to see who I'll put on my avatar next. Your right it is Jerry Garcia from a long time ago playing softball in San Geronimo, Marin County Calif. Jerry was way cool. We miss you "spud".

The photo before Willie was Merle Haggard. I get lucky with the camera once in a while.
