East Side Detroit

This is a big Cottonwood in Angel Park (part of Alfred Brush Ford Park) on the Detroit River. Lots of big trees in this park. Biggest Boxelder I've ever seen here too. Water water everywhere for these trees.

I left my butterfly in the tail as I was pulling my rope down so I could give my little guy a lift. He was super excited until he was about 18" off the ground, then he said "Ok that's enough". As soon as he got back on the ground he said "Again!"

Dude! I climb there all the time. I've been in the cottonwood by the picnic shelter, and in nearly every sycamore there. Great place to watch the freighters sail by! We should get together for a climb once the virus calms down.

You guys are making me home sick!! I grew up in the Downriver area and moved away in 1981 to join the military and have only been back a couple of times since. May need to take a trip very soon! Those are some incredible views and trees!!

Me too! An underappreciated resource. I'm out there every day off in the summer.

If I recall snow is not an issue for @moss. Didn't he recently have a video up climbing in the snow barefooted? But I'm with you on the cold weather motivation issue! 68 along the river sounds much better!

I don't mind winter climbing at all. I do mind winter climbing 40 days before the summer solstice.
