Dynamic footlock prusik

When I attended the European TCC last summer, they told us, that it would be the last TCC where we could climb on static ascend lines with a static / normal prusik.
Therefore I have tried Apus from edelrid as a footlock prusik http://shop.freeworker.de/seile/klemmknotenseile/edelrid-apus.html

But after only two climbing days the mantle was burned through :-(

Anyone with a better option?
It really makes sence to add some dynamic in to the system, when you are doing secured footlock.

Climb safe.

DrewB posted a really slick set up a few months back. It was a short OP prussic loop with a ring and a longer piece of some Sterling dynamic stuff stitched to the ring. It had a stitched eye for clipping into the harness. I'll see if I can find it......

It was posted on Arbtalk, Let's see if the link works.....

It doesn't work, I can't seem to link to an Arbtalk thread. Just go to arbtalk and search "DrewB Footlock Prussic", It comes up.

What if you replaced the ring with the Pinto... Thens its a pulley based secret weapon, and a connector link between the dynamic cord and the OP.

I've thought about it but I think the additional weight could be a PITA. In the right situation it could be a very sexy set-up though.

PS thanks for posting those pics.

Here is one that's a tad bit smarter and Moosehead makes them, very versitile ( Drew's concept, to give credit to the creator ) to be used in aerial rescue at comps and in the field..... what do you all think...

I got a 10mm OP sewn one also that my friend Oceans bought me that is also sweet and works nice....but I don't think it's dynamic though....pretty positive it isn't....the Unity Ocean has such a springy feel to it if you understand that terminology....

Free is good! Beeline is not dynamic though.
