, no sorry that was a joke). Tamil managed to get into the Masters' Challenge this year but ran out of luck after getting all of his throw lines stuck in the 105 foot tall Quercus robur.
He is one of the self employed treeworkers in the region Utrecht that I work with a lot.

The News item was about whether there are a lot of new treeworkers starting in the profession and the name Boomchirurg (Tree surgeon, a name branded by a big Dutch tree care company) In Holland this name has a bad ring to it. It referrers to a time that we used to clean out cavity's with chainsaws and chisels, paint over wounds with dressings and put cabling in every tree so that we could "save the tree".
My response to all this was that trees are evolving here for over 40.000.000 years and that the "we have to do it all to save the tree" is a thing of the past and that our objective now is more to keep the tree healthy.

I had to do some 'pruning' for the 'ordinary viewers' to visualize our day job.
