Duramax LLY

Anyone have any history with this engine? From what I've gleaned off google it's fairly reliable, with the possible exception of the turbo. It's an '06 in 4500 Topkick. 185,000 miles.

From my research, the ‘06, ‘07 were the best Duramax engines made. Sounds like you found a gem’

I would strongly avoid the 2003 plus gmc trucks. Parts are sometimes very hard to find as gm has purged them and there's no dealer support. The older gmc trucks pretty much used all standard medium duty stuff but the newer ones, not so much. I have had friends end up down for months with them searching for parts.
