Double Rope SRT Climb

Tried this setup recently in a sketchbag Maple. Got the idea from Kevin Bingham. Definitely something to experiment with. Tell me what you think.

I really don't know if I would have agreed to climb that tree. It all worked out in the end but that screamed failure to me. Usually on nasty stuff I try to always have my rigging above my tip so if the rigging causes a failure I might be ok. Also the force of a speedline on something so nasty? Can you share what your thought process was on deciding that specific tree was good to climb and rig from. I'm not pointing fingers. I am always interested in the thought process and experience of others when it comes to nasty trees. Hoping to learn something. Thanks

Man, I have to agree with Steve. Nice job getting it done, but I'm not a big fan of tying in above cavities that I can see completely through. Those fruiting bodies make me question the strength of the tree too.

Looked like a great chance to rent a lift. Obviously you know what you're doing so I'm guessing there was a reason you had to climb it. (Like the cemetery wouldn't allow lift access?) Interesting vid, glad it worked out.

I agree with Steve, That one seemed a bit sketchy, glad it worked out for you. I would of brought in the 90 ton for that one. Thanks for sharing
