Ever wonder what to do with them?
Well, last week I was in Cumbria for the Lyon Technical Symposium with Chris and Rich Allmond. We came up with a seasonal use you might put your Rigging Hubs to work with.
All you need is four candles, some christmas kitsch and greenery... and Bob's your uncle!

In this image, the three systems are being used to position a floating anchor, the haul bag is simulating the load, which could be a climber on an independent climbing system. Or a load you're rigging.... the possibilities are endless!

Umm, Norm, I'd have to pass on that. If I had to guess I'd say something like 1kg for the small one and 2kg for the big one. But don't hold me to that.

Which states ~1.86kg (~4.1lbs) for the small block and ~3.47kg (~7.6lbs) for the hollow shaft larger block. I'm guessing those numbers have come off the CAD software, so I don't know how accurate they are......but they won't be too far off the truth.

dang that is way cool. The video could use your narrating with your distinguished accent about what excactly is going on. The big logs slamming down to that music was visual but i didn't know what was happening and what kind of numbers you were getting. I think the other block builders will have to step up and see what kind of numbers they get. good job, and get them over here quick. ill be saving up.
that second rope option sold me in a second, I can think of so many ways that could be useful. That is almost like the hitch climber but for rigging. If anything else, that option puts this block in another category than the others.

Do both sizes have the open axle? My browser crashes when I go to the DMM site.

No, only the large one. Size-wise it's physically not possible to make the spindle of the small one hollow.
