Beat me to it mark

As if that were some kind of accomplishment.

Thank you Chris. I've been to the site before and should have had the sense to go back and look.
DMM has a very useful product in that the hollow shaft can be used as a rigging point. Very clever.
I'll definitely be investing in the Big Block. Already have my name on a waiting list.
Can't wait!

Beat me to it Marc.

I want to be on the list too... ahead of Marc but after Norm.

LOL. Yeah, please put me on that list too, but I'll wait for my proper place without cutting anyone off in line. Unless of course Mark brings a stash to TCI in Nov. and I can get one there.

I used to think that the Hobbs Blocks were the king of rigging blocks, but I think that that DMM has replaced the king! That 1" Hobbs Block is still unbelievable in size, with an 8,000LBS WLL.

For that floating anchor point idea, couldn't a person use a "spiderleg" approach to floating the anchor in the place as needed. It would not load share, as it would be still relying on the one line/eye going to the block.

Keith and I are both wondering about how the block is connected to the tree in the youtube video.

To my eyes this looks like an unusual sling configuration I'd love more info on this.

Don't get excited! We took the opportunity of a remote woodland setting to test a different anchor sling configuration..... which turned out to be convenient to use but not as strong as we hoped it would be! The sling withstood (without incident) the three days of drops highlighted in the video, but failed at relatively low loads on the test bed. Back to the drawing board....
