Deadly Hanger

Not too often you get called over to help with a "hanger". We were at another job when this guy asked us for help. Needless to say I wasn't interested in the meat.

That sucks. It probably had to struggle there for a while...

GRCS would pick it up.

You could put the running bowline around the neck and pluck it off.

i remember reading a story about a climber who fell out of a tree and had one of those spiked fences puncture through the backpad on his saddle and into his back. I saw the pic of the bloody saddle...kinda disturbing

Funny story about deer meat...when i worked in SC there was a road killed deer just around the block from the shop. It had been hit early in the morning before we showed up that day. The manager let a couple of the guys take a couple of hours in the morning to go grab it and field dress it and put it in the chest freezer we had for the bags of ice. After work that day we went and got some charcoal, some marinate and seasoning rubs, some tortillas, and of course some beer and had us a cook out. That was a fun day

You guys/gals remember the article with the climber who was impaled on one of these type of fences? The photo showed the TM harness with blood all over it. Nasty fall...

I was working next door to the Morris Arboretum last year and a deer had gotten it's head stuck in a very similar fence. ( I think i already mentioned this to you, "Sawdust"). Head arborist Herb got a car jack to bend the bars apart and the deer took off. Nice move!
