Dead Fir Removals

Hmmm, I've seen that before but it was just a little video on some free hosting place.

Now I can say I've seen it on the big screen.

They sure were dead!

Dont like the climbing bit with lots of slack in the system. If he's your climber I'd suggest a rescue kit handy and ready to go on the ground any time just incase.

Hey Collins, welcome to TreeBuzz!

It sure bugs me to see stubs sticking out everywhere just waiting to snag a rope or hook a glove while pushing over a chunk. Stubs are bad, bad, bad. You gotta cut them anyway, why not flush em off and be done with it? JMO. ;)

i think stubs cam be good as rigging points, steps, but mostly as fritions for ropes that can be climber controlled. It jsut depends on if they are in the way or can be used.

Mostly i agree with MB; but i just don't blindly throw nothing away without considering how it could possibly help; kinda like recycling.

Ahh ! the pros and cons of stub use or lack of.weight in.... I have a use for them since I rarely use spurs to even remove trees. If you are good enough at the removal stubs shouldnt get in the way in any event.I see both points of view really cutting them off just dulls my chain.Let it go.
