Dad had heart attack, brother stitches, uncle fell

Been away from the computer for several days X. Sorry to hear about all the stuff going on. Prayers sent your way for all. Glad you have family there to support each other.

His brain function was basically all gone, just the brain stem that controls breathing and reflexes.

Anyway, he luckily had filled out a living will a few months ago and it told us his wishes, although we always knew them anyway.

we unhooked the ventilator and let him go.

some of us wanted to be in the room, some not. I was in there.

It wasn't too bad.

I feel very good where he went and it was quite powerful to see the point when his soul left his human body. Quite amazing; I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about it to the public or not. Really showed to me that we all have a soul; not that I ever doubted though; but I wasn't expecting what I saw.

He luckily; for us watching, went quite peacefully. He did a good job. Like someone's signiture on tree buzz, "get busy living, or get busy dying, Josey Wales" (sp?).

Thanks all!

Sorry for your loss, X. I'd also like to apologize for my 'bad things happen in threes' comment, I was trying to make light of the situation, but it was poor timing.

I'm glad that you are able to accept the loss/transition, it's something that is hard for everyone. I'm also glad that you got to see him depart, that's powerful stuff.

Hang in there, man.

-Tom

So very sorry to hear this news. Prayers still going your way for you and your family. I will send you an e-mail later today.

I'm glad you got to be there for his passing, although I know it was hard on you. My family will continue to pray for yours, and if you need someone to talk to or unload on please get a hold of me.
Hope your Uncle and Brother are doing better too.

Been working all weekend and just had a chance to read this post.

X, I am very sorry to hear of your dad's passing and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

[/ QUOTE ]Respect X, It's all about respect and you got mine. There is nothing worse than letting your loved ones go but in the end you have to respect their will.
Take care of the rest of your family and enjoy your time together. Think about the best moments you had together and smile.

My Prayers have been with you and your family. What a great man! Made a large loving family, who's children were well brought up and very successfull. Can't ask much more. Will never be forgotten
