I really don't know why but I've always liked the silver ones. I probably have my head staight up and sideways but I think the red ones are...well...ugly. But now that I think of it, on a Treemotion it would probably look ok. I'm not terribly hung up on the asthetics of the gear. A little bit though. I have some gear that I'm kinda proud of the way it looks. I have a prussik on my lanyard that Kathy Holzer made me that I treasure. I think of her almost every time I use it. Brandon Shields buys these military collapsable water bags, takes them to a seamstress and has a small pocket stitched to the inside of them and uses them as throwline kits. Well he gave me one a long time ago and it fits perfectly on top of the rope in my ropebag and is often the first tool I need after I suit up. I know it's sappy but I'd have a hard time parting with it. Do you guys have gear you wouldn't part with for sentimental reasons? You can tell us. It won't put your manhood on the chopping block...except Viking's but let's face it, his manhood warrants constant skepticism.
