Thanks Evo. That’s my lack of social media use and the vague recollection of posts made years ago on the subject.

Have you ever actually worked with a crane before? How many guys do you know that do? How many times have any of them actually had the homeowners leave the house?. Right and I’m going to take advice from the fool who doesn’t wear a helmet

Have you ever actually worked with a crane yourself? I’m not saying it’s right however it’s common practice across the board to not make homeowners leave the house and I think it is good to point out that issue, but I’m definitely not going to take advice from the fool who doesn’t wear a helmet but acts holier than though and says others can’t complete easy tasks yet breaks his leg just trying to walk on uneven ground you might want to think about putting on a helmet if you’re loosing your footing on the ground. You did say I was in the running with you for asshole of the year award so I’m just putting in my best effort here. I just really don’t understand what the obsession is, for every east side tree works there’s a thousand companies much worse even, is it just because they have so many followers that makes you mad? Obviously people watch things that are entertaining to them it’s no secret, like I’d say someone like Reg isn’t necessarily making videos very well edited and shot and put together to be the most entertaining and attract followers but for people that take it seriously like us it’s just what we are looking for.
can you please please please do us all a favour and quit posting, enough is enough of your spewing of crap and @rico @Steve Connally and many others you know dick all about are very good, above average as a matter of fact at what they do. Enough with your BS comments please and thank you. There I spoke for many who wanted to say it :birra::hola:

If I had to ask a homeowner to leave the house I would be confessing the possibility of destroying their house.

I'm not sure I could do that.

It is only on these occasions I'm not jealous of the crane operators.

This is a sticky situation for sure. Admittedly I’ve only done it once, but I’d much prefer doing so all the time.
a month ago I was to fell two 170’ 40” Douglas firs between two houses about 90 degree on each side of the lay, both houses were about 40’ from the stumps. I knew I had that shit, even though they weren’t exactly headleaning trees. Not only we’re both houses occupied their called their friends and all were on balconies filming!

Very much a derail, and I don’t give a F since this thread has gone to hell. @rico
Mind explaining the parallel face cut with a snipe? If I’m using the right terminology? I have my guesses, and will leave a few inches in the apex of my face for a little extra holding hinge power on some species. Occasionally on one corner or the other.

I love it. Rico leaks composure out of every pore.
Sorry I deleted the pics Oceans... You know I was just having some fun with you, but after hearing about Jake leaving Eastside I felt this wasn't the time or place for it...

Getting the Ho's out when working over or around their homes is S.O.P. around here. Frankly I'm fucking shocked that we all don't do it...
It would certainly ease the anxiety levels and in general make the job go much smoother

Just an old school block cut with a little snipe thrown in.. I use them frequently when I get into larger trees. Super easy for me to cut. Accurate as fuck. Hinge stays intact for a very long time which seems to cause these older trees (fragile) to have a softer landing, which results in less lost wood.

How do you make the vertical cut in the block? Do you bore through the tree, or do those trees split well enough that you can just lever/split the piece out? I’ve wanted to try that cut for a while, just haven’t had any good opportunities to use it.

I know all about the reds to be made like crystal. I’ve dropped a few and seen some decent logs dropped that shatter like glass

With this drought and climate change our Reds are currently drier than a popcorn fart, and much more fragile than normal. Things you could get away with not so long ago are now unthinkable. Unless you don’t care about blowing up a bunch of beautiful wood.

Time to bring out the cushions of slash and dozer burms? I’m seriously tripping up here, feeling like chicken little because no one is listing. The local FD Denys the risk of wild fire ‘we don’t have wild fires here, just brush fires’ and ‘we have a vast network of resources IF a wildfire broke out, we just call the state’…. None of which comes close to settling my mind. I know where there are many burnt out old growth snags that I can stand in. It’s more common than not to find layers of charcoal and ash in the soil layers…. Not to mention ‘sink holes’ from stand clearing fires.

we are far better off than you drought wise, but a fucken thick time bomb of brushy dog hair
