Crabapple Climbers\' Club - are you in?
I am.
Two nights ago, wife went out with the girlfriends. I put the two kids to bed and sat down on the couch, popped in disc 2 of The Art and Science of Practical Rigging into the DVD player, pulled my gear out of the bag so I could tinker with my lanyard setup while I learned about dynamic loads.
Then, figured out a nifty little setup with my saddle bridge, and I just had to try it out.
So what did I do? Saddled up and stepped out into the yard leaving the door open so I could hear if one of the kids woke up, and monkeyed up into my 10 foot crabapple to see if my new setup really worked.
Wife returns home and discovers me hanging 3 feet off the ground, in the dark, in full climbing regalia (sans Vertex
), with the voice of Rip Tompkins wafting out the door into the night air.
I might be the only member of the Crabapple Climbers' Club, but I'm proud.
