Country boys crane removal in the big city!

deevo

Been here a while
Ok Pelorus came down to the city to help on this job, old shack coming down and new mansion going up! Selective removals of large red oaks and one tall white pine ( for the city ) all logs are going to be milled and used for different things throughout the new house. Space was extremely tight, 40 ton with 124' of stick. I took these of Dave, my other guys have pics I'll post later of the nightmarish oak from hell with vines I did first !

I know someone's going to ask, I was only using the 200T to remove the vines ( biggest pain in the ass tree ever in that regard! They were fused and twisted around the tree like crazy !)
Have to give credit to our crane op and patience doing this one in such a tight spot and limited very small LZ! As well as Dave and the ground crew on this job! I left out the pics of the national tree huggers association that were on hand !

My crane tree removal experience adds up to a grand total of less than one tree / year that I've been climbing. Have learned a lot from Devon, for which I'm grateful, so if he feels this is course is worthwhile for himself, you can imagine how I feel about going!

Rockin the crane jobs. Why the school. You seem pretty up to speed.
I think Chuck and Classictruckman answered it already, it's like being on the FD, always something to learn and techniques are changing etc... I'm sure we will all come away with more knowledge after the course then we had before. That's the thing around my parts, every other company is so stuck in the 80's the way they climb, rig, and pretty much everything else arboriculture related, I'm totally opposite I'm up to date, proper training, equipment and a great bunch of guys to work with just makes each and every job that much better, and for the most part use cranes as much as I can for the bigger jobs. I was hoping to bring a few of my newer guys also, but their passports aren't up to date! Always next year! Plus I'm hoping to pick Pete's brain and the other operators a bit also during the course! We will be using the Sena's I was told so it'll be good to get other operators opinions on stuff also compared to the guys I work with and can take back some valuable info to them as well.
