I've heard about some anthracnose resistant strains of Pacific Dogwood - not cultivars or hybrids like 'White Wonder', but the real native tree. Perhaps from seeds sourced from hearty trees that seem to have fought off the anthracnose? Anyone know of nurseries selling successful Pacific Dogwoods, or anyone successfully growing them on or around Vancouver Island?
