The year that video came out, MTV gave the best video award to R.E.M. for "everybody hurts".... a hardly inspired video of Michael Stipe whining as he trudges across a bridge.


That is why I will go to my grave hating R.E.M.

Go back a few years to when Jethro Tull got some award, maybe a Grammy for best heavy metal band...huh??? Ian and Co must have been just as confused.

Today it was Booker T and the MG's for me. I range all over but as far as music goes, the 70's and 80's were my formative years.

Did you guys know that they actually played music videos on MTV back then? Yeah, for real, back to back music videos all day long, sorta like radio... Weird eh?
