Constant rotation valve schematic

I'd like to understand how a rotator works like on a skidded grapple or under the seat of a grapple loader. It's a mystery how a valve can be configured to work like that.

Does anyone know of a source of diagrams so that I can figure out what it looks like inside a rotator?

In thinking they would be pretty much the same as a swing cab boom truck....i guess i'm way off. Thought it would be more one in and one out.

Thanks! I think I understand the mechanics now. Next week when I'm around one of the grapple trucks I'm going to look at the grapple and study the hydraulic lines. Then I should be able to see how it works.

Just don't go taking the valve apart, Tom. That grapple might be down for weeks :p

classictruckman,
I've always wondered about your avatar. That's a cool pic! Is the piece on the right being craned out? And is it fused to that other trunk, or is that just optical illusion?

I'm standing in a crotch after making a cut, that tree and the one in the backround were both crane trees done for the local utility company.
I think I see what's going on now. The piece being lifted looks like it's attached to the other leader at the bottom right, but it's not. Optical illusion. Good pic... and pick
