Compressing pics

Go to the folder your picture is in. Right click on it. Go to "open with", then open in "paint". Now that the picture is open in paint look for the resize tab. In that tab it will show the horizontal and the vertical at 100%, just change those numbers to 50 or 45...maybe even 40. It should show you at the the lower part of the screen what size the picture is as you change the numbers. Now just save the picture and there you go. Be sure to rename the picture if you don't want to overide the orginal.

Thanks jeremy! I've wanted to know that but never asked!

Get a good free photo organizer/editor....www.picasa.com is the best.

It will allow you to "Export" a photo, say, to another folder that you designate for web use. There are several resize choices.

You will now also have a great place to organize and view all your photos, and do plenty of good, basic editing tasks, such as cropping, rotating, fixing an over or underexposed image, sharpening, enhancing color...and on and on....

Picasa also has an online hosting service. I seldom use it, as I prefer Flickr, where I pay $25 a year for unlimited hosting.
