Community forest photo contest

One down side I see, is the royalty free part to the images. They are offering just a few hundred dollars in prizes, and in return, possibly getting thousands or tens of thousands worth of images free of charge, that they can use indefinitely for any publication or artwork.

So sure, this would have little or no interest to professional photographers interested in selling their work. If folks want to share what they have, and perhaps even show off an activity in which they are involved, great! That would need to be the motivation, not the prizes, I expect. Just an opportunity that some might enjoy.

Seems like it's got a good challenge in it, where they want urban trees in addition to natural areas or nature in the shot.
