Cold Weather tree work question.

As the name indicated...this is a hobby for me. That said, I have a question about tree removal in cold weather. A customer called and has a 75' to 80' "carolina poplar" and wants it down. Weather around here has been below freezing and tree is within 75' of a large lake,(lake effect makes it colder). Will this effect the tree in any way for climbing or rigging??? Thanks HC

The hinge characteristics of cold or frozen wood are MUCH different than thawed wood. Expect a better pop and less hinge. The wood cuts just about the same.

If you are working with a "swing dutchman" be careful, it will shear instead of strech the wood fibers. Could seperate early...

Those are some cold weather rigs. Are they from "Predator Tree Co"? Or are they your own original rigs?
