Coast Redwood 2014 pics ... plus Bigfoot

Yeah, Mr. C! A picture gallery, damnit! What do we gotta do, draw you a damn pictu.. er... nevermind.

Actually, makes sense... a pic gallery with short captions, no comments... wouldn't have to wade through long streams of bullshit to get to the pretty pictures.

The 5th largest coast redwood ... one of the prints for the July 3rd and 4th arts festival in Crescent City next week.

Looks like a postcard. :) Did you luck put with the lighting or have to plan for it and wait? Or a little of both? Looks fantastic, especially with a beautiful woman in a colorful dress along side it.

The lighting is very nice on the right side of the trunk. I packed-in a small LED light panel that I put on a stand to illuminate the heavy shade on the left side.

Here's one taken near the lighthouse at Crescent City ... also for the art festival booth next week.

Great pics hope all is well Mario. I remember a short hike with you and Michael Taylor and you happen to find the worlds tallest hemlock you named it tsunami after the one that took out some of crescent city harbor!

Good to hear from you Jake. That was a good time sharing the redwoods together.

Did you folks see any of the recentdiscoveries, like this one? Largest known coast redwood trunk, found back in 2014. One of various redwood titan discoveries at Redwood National and State Parks.

I went heavy on bushwhacking in 2014 to early 2015. I may transition to more photography the next 8 months.

Very nice. So, how did your work do at the show?

I sold a couple big prints on canvas at the gallery. And at the cultural center where the show was, several prints sold and one print on canvas.

So I did better than breaking even on expenses. I had hoped to at least break even. It was a chance to see which type prints and what sizes people had the most interest in, so I can adapt next year. It also helped a lot to know what to hang in the gallery.

wow its great looking through these photos , I've just returned from a road trip up the west coast with a couple of friends and we visited most of these sites and spent a lot of our time bushwhacking and searching out some of the largest Sequoias using odd bits of information we gathered from friends and acquaintances ..... one of the coolest and most amazing trips I have ever done.

Lovely photos Mario @mdvaden
