climbing spikes

hi there, about to order a pair of titanium spikes from sherrill, just not sure wether to buy them without the pads or not, the aluminum upper pads on the web page look good, but are they
any help appreciated
thanks

i don't personally have them, but iv'e only heard great things about them, i do have the T2's though and there awesome , get them w/ the pole gaffs though, unless you climb alot of real thick barked stuff, like big cottonwoods or something,

I really like my T2 climbers as well. I found the alum. upper pads to be too bulky, but most who have them think they are the greatest thing since grits. I think the street name is 'Cadillac pads'.

Definitely get some type of upgraded pads though. I think the upper pads make more difference than the climber frame itself.

The titanium climbers we sell ARE the T2's, or "BuckLites" as Buckingham calls them.

they certainly look cool, just i have quite skinny legs and it seems a pretty rigid piece of kit, dont know what the fit will be like, and as i'm ordering from overseas i want to get it right first time

The fit of the climbers will be exactly like the fit of the regular steel climbers. Like I said, the big difference is in the upper pads. Do you currently own a pair of gaffs? What brand/ style are they? What style upper pads do you use currently?

I've used the "Caddy Pads" for 30 yrs. Highly recommend. They come in two sizes, the narrower ones fit my smallish calves well. Cheaper than the cushion wrap Buckingham pads which may be better for you, as they fit well..and work well.

Mark,

I too have climbed in caddy's for many year(15 years) and I aint using anything else any time soon. I have tried the buckingham full wraps a couple of times and I personally like the caddy's way better, but that is just me.
