Climbing pants

Clogger Spider. Don't use them that much in Trees, because they're not chainsaw protective, I currently use the Pfanner Arborist for saw use, might get some from PSS soon, they are the lightest, most breathable, but not great pockets, or the Arbortec breatheflex pro. I know the Clogged Zeros are great, but we don't have those. When my Spiders are worn out I don't know what I'll get as a replacement. Pfanner Gladiator Outdoor might suit my purposes well.
Since you're in the US though, and are probably looking for non chainsaw protective pants, Clogger Spider is the way to go. Definitely worth it. Use the search function to find the review I did about them on here.

Hey neighbor!

I have been required in the past to wear chainsaw protective pants even while climbing, so I have gotten used to climbing in saw pants, not sure if that’s your situation.

I have had really good luck with the pfanner gladiator ventilator which has a much tougher exterior fabric than the clogger zeros. I have had 3 pairs of the cloggers and a pair of the Stein (pass on those). The clogger exterior fabric begins to disintegrate at around 9 months and it really goes downhill from there. The pfanners are slightly warmer. But trudging through blackberries etc it’s nice to have something w a little more integrity. I think I might be able to get two years out of my pfanners. Wear them year round. Fit more like a jean, less like sweatpants.

I wear ArborWear Ascenders full time, year round. I just add UnderArmour under them in the winter, when it’s too cold for the thin pants.

I have arborwear canopy pants that have lasted probably at least 7-8 years. I don't climb every day...but when I know I'm climbing, I wear those. With winters thrown it it won't quite be once per week...bit pretty close. So let's be overly conservative and say 30xper year for 7 years. I'm impressed that they've done over 200 climbs and are still going strong.

I’ll second the durability, I wore my first pair of Ascenders every single day for more than a year and they still looked like new. I still have that pair, three years old now and going strong.

Got some Pfanner Stretch Airs. They’re pretty old, no chainsaw protection, but I like them and they’re really durable. Really thin stretchy material around the booty and crotch helps air move around the nether regions, really a godsend on hot humid days. No fun doing tree work while it feels like you sat in a big hot bowl of gravy.

More often I just wear old style BDU type pants. Big cargo pockets, gusseted crotch, double knee fabric, drawstrings at the ankles for tick country. Cheap, durable, comfortable, made in USA. Got them in gray, khaki, and navy blue.

I used to wear jeans all the time. I could never go back to them.

I wear saw protection (clogger zeros) once a week in the summer heat, if that. Like if I have a day of felling or a big crane or climbing removal where it's gonna be essentially spar work the whole time. Other than that I wear truewerk T2 pants for general climbing and prunes or very hot days when the clogger will kill me. Only been wearing them 2 seasons now but I have an older pare with some small holes and damage but nothing ever enlarges with use! I've had a 1/8" hole from a nail head in the knee for a year, expected it to tear out with use but nada, nothing. I'm impressed with the durability and fit. I have heard around the shop the older (but still available) T1 version isn't near as good but all I've ever tried is the 2's.

You can also treat them with a DWR and they're as good as rain pants till the repellant wears off after a few washes.

I Highly recommend arborwear tech pants. I've had 4 pairs of the originals, all still in good shape, between 6-8 years old. Haven't actually tried the tech II pants cause these keep lasting.

The ascender pants got stretched out And uncomfortably baggy within 2 years but the tech pants just keep going

Ive used the Solidur Infinity and the Solidur SoFresh from Bartlett and i really like them. The Infinity's are a little warmer/thicker but the vents on the back of the leg are big and function really well

The SoFresh are an even more ventilated pant and they were really comfy, even for being a size too small i need to lose some weight so i can fit in them
