climbing hitch?

Just remember the correct spelling dudes is distel. Distol sounds like some kind of toilet cleaner or psychedelic party drug . Maybe try some HRC it's a smooth working cord with the VT. Welcome to the buzz Brandon 668 and Woodchucker.

Moss,

Thats a great knot. I have been using that one for a couple of months and i love it. It works awesome with the rope wrench. Thanks for the video.

I've been using the distel mostly but to find it grabby sometimes to battle this Ive been trying a 33in HRC on tachyon with a 3 to 1 distel, I tried 2 to 1 but had to much slipping, and then braiding the tails as in a VT, and I have found it has a pretty good balance.

Irishclimber depending on your weight with gear, I am 180lbs and 6'. With chainsaw and other stuff maybe 195lbs so you might try a 3 wrap, 2 braid VT with a 30" prussic of HRC on tachyon, look on page one of this thread where I posted a pic. It's smooth as silk. 33" seems too long, I have some specially spliced 28" on their way that should be even better. Just my $.02.

For the longest time I was hesitant to use the VT for this reason: If I were to accidentally cut through one leg of my split tail with my handsaw or anything else, the VT would unwind and I would fall to the ground. With other hitches like the Schwabisch or the Distel, even if you cut one leg of your split tail, the hitch will still hold you on the other leg alone. That being said, I love the way that the VT works and it is currently the hitch that I use (in the XT variation). It grabs well and is very easy to break and descend. The Schwabisch and the Distel both grab very well, but can cinch up too much and become hard to break, especially the Distel.

VT an the distol are both great smooth runing but byefar the Samson ice last the longest an wears even how do u like the new Samson vortex climbing line

I'm going to need a little orphan Annie decoder ring to decypher that post. This isn't a text message, please use some punctuation. We'd love to answer questions, but we need to understand them first! Thanks!

Let me give a little help.

" The VT and distel are both smooth hitches. As for hitch cord I find samson ice durable and seems to last the longest, wearing evenly. By the way how do you like the new samson vortex line? "

Joe I think that was what woodchucker was trying to get across ( I know you were being funny ). Little english 101.

Welcome woodchucker. Hope I didn't offend, I too like poking fun.

Ha! Thanks Swingdude. Yes, I think I got the gist of what he was saying, just making a point and trying to include some humor.

Woodchuck, just giving you a hard time. I don't want to scare you away from the Buzz!
