Cinching Up with a Second Laynard During Removal- mechanical vs friction knot vs running bowline

I believe that under normal forces this very unlikely to fail, but should Murphy rear his ugly head, think about one of those rings loading on the gate.
I modified bridge setup with uni for spar work.
I think this is legit now, eliminating biner keeps it compact. Running bridge through uni then petzel bridge adjuster and terminating with biner clipped back to Petzel ring makes it easy on and off and keeps with manufacturers setup instructions

Here's one of my favorite (probably bad) ideas. Really digging the belay loop on the new sequoia.

Pardon my perpetually messy basement.

No doubt, but the question was really targeting the akimbo users and rope runner users, as when on a spar there is often times of unloading, then reloading, the rope. Hence if no lock, or soft lock, is used the mechanical technically is window dressing as a second point of attachment if it releases in those conditions.

No Akimbo here, but the Runner has no issues with not grabbing. The one situation where I've had the Runner not hold was poor rope management. I was lanyarded in and my lanyard draped over the bird of the Runner, when I took in slack on the Runner the lanyard kept the bird collapsed keeping it from engaging. I did have a lanyard on, so no real concern in this instance. Moved the rope and the Runner grabbed again like normal.

Is it comfortable? I have the older version and if you attatch a climbing line to the sternal loop it’s like a torture device when you weight the saddle, it crushes your nuts and breaks your back all at the same time.

I have spent a lot of time in rock climbing harnesses so maybe I don't notice the issue. The 2019 feels more comfortable than my rock harness (more/wider padding). I generally wear boxer briefs and have no issues with the twig and berries.

That said, I do find that the bridge/lower D's do offer a more comfortable hang and pretty much only use the "belay loop" for cinching on a spar and I think it's great for that (also for rescue applications). I don't have a lot of hours on the saddle yet, but it has been a welcome upgrade from my secondhand Weaver 4D.

I do, however, hate the leg buckles with a passion. Getting them undone with cold fingers involves several not so kind words and few prayers to the old gods.

I also don't know what you mean, I've hung off a chest ascender on the old one, didn't find it uncomfortable at all. However, just like @JayDeCoster I spend a lot of time in a rock style harness (but full body, certified for everything), and I usually wear briefs, which keeps everything out of the way.

I wish i could get comfortable on sturnal loop ,I put second line on it once in a while but only when i use tree to take some weight, otherwise it pulls on my back and doesnt share load with leg straps. Its very comfortable to work off bridge though.

Hey Jack, something to consider, I use uniscender clipped right to rings of my bridge on my sequoia ( u have to let adjustments all the way out so that two rings come together)
I’m not sure how good would work on other saddles but this setup gets me cinched up close to tree. Then I use running bowline on climbing line, long tail if I want it remotely retrievable
That looks like it could side load your biner?
