Cinch Lanyard System

it seems I'm one of the few that hated the cinch. It took too much focus to loosen, always needing to focus on where the handle was and I'm not always in the greatest position to be fumbling around with a lever, I used it once then traded it. I am a creature of habit though and just felt much more comfortable with my microcender. It's easy to thumb open with one hand and force my hips back to give a bit of slack in the line. I couldn't get used to the cinch so I'm back to the microcender. It may not release under load but I have yet to see an instance where this was a cruital feature.

there are afew guys around that have bad bad choose of cuts that would very much disagree with ya there. Ever hear tell of some one getting pinched by a rip cut and be stuck in the tree being crushed by the weigh not being able to release the lanyard. I know of 2 death from this in Trenton area. One the tree top pulled him right up and over after supposedly being stuck for 5 mins. Maybe if he had away to release the landyard he might still be here. the cinch is nice but myself I like the grigri.

HR,

Rope access is a whole different type of climbing than what arborists use. Be very careful if you blend the two disciplines.

From a regulatory standpoint they MUST be separate.

Agreeded 100%, I just mean they have alot of the stuff we are starting to use, already tested and proved. I would think this would give for a very strong piont to start from. Most deffinatly for mech devise use. As this also is the standard for caving also No?
