Which chain saw protective pants do you guys prefer for climbing and on the ground year round? I don’t like how my chaps fit on my legs , I feel that I don’t get full protection, as the chaps rotate away from my legs

I hate chaps because of the way they do not stay put The only way to go is with chain saw protective pants. They are more comfortable and don't have the tendency to get caught on brush like chaps do. If I have a day when I am not wearing protective pants there is no way I am wearing chaps in the tree. They are not required so you don't have to worry about it. That is also a good reason to bite the bullet and buy a pair of pants, you will have the leg protection all day and won't have the tendency to "forget" to throw them on.

They're a little pricey but I really like Pfanner pants, they don't get as hot as most saw pants or chaps. Before I used standard off the shelf sthil pants, but they were very hot and they would be good for a month or two, but then the stitching in the crotch would break during hip thrusting or stretching out to step on a branch, very embarasing in front of a customer.

I've heard good things about SIP saw pants.

I love the Husqvarna bib pants. They get warm in the summer, but there is no belt to wear under a saddle or suspenders to get tangled up in.

I just bought a pair of forester chainsaw pants. seems to be an exact replica of the sip pants as far as i can tell. same design exactly even the thread color. only made in wisconsin $95.00 great buy wore them for twelve hours of rope and spur climbing on wednesday i would recommend them to everyone...www.foresterbarsandchain.com i bought the year round pants

you can get those same pants, the sip replica at Ahlborn Equipment for 65 bucks, they are a great company, not many items, but a bunch of the necessities at great prices. I got a pair of these and love em, a little warm in summer tho

I am planning on buying the ahlborn euro style $95 pants, and was wondered if anyone could give me some sizing tips. I am normally a 34" waist. I was curious about the fit of these pants . Should I go small, 32"-34", or go up to the medium. Thanks for the help...josh

Have both a pair of Pfanner gaters and a pair of stihl chaps. Use the chaps for occasional cutting while I stick to the pfanner if I know I have a mainly ground work day. But personally don't care for wearing the gaters while climbing. Just don't care for the bulky feeling but they weren't uncomfortable. Only used the gaters in the winter so far so can't really comment on how hot they are gonna get in the summer months.
As well I found euro made pants to be sized larger the US made ones. Even going 1 size lower i still have some room to spare.

I take 34 waist 30 lenght I bought the small they have elastic waist bands fit perfect buy the smalls

I checked the price it was $95 also had my local supplier get some same price thanks bro for the tip i'll check out next time

95 is overpaying boys, Call Ahlborn Equipment, they are a wholesaler, and you can set up an account using your company name, but MAKE SURE YOU USE THE COMPANY NAME, they wont do business with an average joe.
