Chainsaw Vid by August

I can't wait to get into some video work but I have a hard time finding the time to do it let alone edit. This guy makes me feel like I am doing something wrong. Props to him. Good stuff.

Video was awesome. The work, meh, nothing special. He doesn't even have a climbing helmet and it looks like no stopper knot on a descent to the end of his rope. Just sayin'.

He is quick. Good work and some great techniques. Like the multiple speedline cuts. thanks for the vid, Bix

The Red Wing vid was good as well. Nice to see they did their homework and made sure all work shown was compliant. This is the kind of thing that ISA should be co-producing with suppliers like RW.

Sorry I was meaning this vid. You know, all the time setting it up but no time to take an extra step and properly position.

I supervised a number of old west coast loggers doing firewood bucking (in jail). Some would hustle and some looked like sloths. At the end of the day the sloth had made the bigger pile of blocks with every cut done under control and as safe as possible. Lesson learned.

Ya'll must be hard to work with, so perfect and all. You should see when i no hands my chainsaw, its nuts!

Nice vid august, appreciate the time going into these.

Too right!

Well I gotta say everything I do is better than my competitors. Everything tree related at least. I can't work the phone, I can't invoice, and I can't chase deadbeats. So far from perfect. Not much of a mechanic either. But if I knew how to make money I'd get me a video camera and show you guys how it's done. Just the facts Mam. I have lots of shortcomings but treework isn't one of them. Strength, endurance, balance, focus, knowledge, experience, try me.

I know what I did wrong and expected to come home from climbing and chucking 3 trees in 2 hours solo and get some grief for not saying the approved response to a video. Nice job, thanks for sharing bla bla bla. Nobody learns nothin' from that except how to blow smoke.

Treehumper, just in case you were interested, in the red wing vid, look for a rigging line wrapped around a hand, and chainsaw chaps at the chipper.

What your missing Bix is that videos used to get torn apart and cause bs like this everytime. I kinda brought it around by attacking the attackers and starting the trend to, nice work thanks for sharing. Just tipping the balance back to some middle ground and boldly going where others refuse to go and saying the truth. Keep putting up your videos I've been able to watch a couple of the later ones without cringing.

Feels like you already rammed my boat.

Hey my apologies for taking out my problems on you buzzers. Bix I couldn't believe your first video but it's been fun to watch you learn the work and you've got it now. Anyway tough times in the boreal forest. I'll take a break til I get my tooth fixed for starters and the weather will fix my other problems if I can make it to spring. Just a few weeks more and the good times will roll again.

Thanks Eric. I just hope the 1/4 tank of gas I syphoned out of the new bucket truck can hang in there til some of the people in an emergency to get their work done can send some cheques so I can finish cleaning up a "competitor's" disaster. Climbing around pointy broken stubs for three days is brutal. These trees get like cold hard steel up here and the spurs just bounce off. More Anbesol.
