Catching the Hacks in Action, Picture posting:

Thanks TreeCo, good to see you too. And yes it is a small world.

Just seems like I am following people around in my quest for knowledge.

This is very interesting in deed.

Look who has come out, like a tree from a seed.

I suspect those that oppose have the dirtiest laundry of all.

They don't want to see their picture posted and their business fall.

This will not be a witch hunt, the facts will be true,
If you see your picture, all you can do...
is cry,... " boo, hoo, hoo".

To quote my great grandfather Lorax:
"Now that you're here,
the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear.
UNLESS someone like you
cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better.
It's not."

I am the Loraxx who speaks for the trees
which you seem to be topping as fast as you please.

Please, I beg you, let them be.

Hmmm, where did you come up with that idea Einstein?

[/ QUOTE ]

My name is Loraxx.

It might not have been totally my idea,
but you weren't going to act.

It's like wishing upon a star.
I am what this site has needed, by far.
I will be the speaker for the trees,
no one will break your knees.
No one that submits will be known,
it will be me alone.

I've been working on something like this for a few years now. I was going to create my own website, but I think their are enough good arborist here that this public forum will be better.

wonder if the guys from NE aera bring their fleas with them whereever they go.

That's why I like you so much, Holly (Can I call you Holly?)... You are an equal-opportunity Ars-hole. I mean that in the best possible way.

(PS - You should let us all know at the beginning of each post, if we are talking to Jekyll or if we are talking to Hyde.)

I know that. I know you deep inside like a guy who calls a spade a spade. Rather than a guy who'd blow smoke up your pooter.

Yes. Honesty is a good policy, whether we want to hear it or not.

Speaking of honesty, I honestly never knew that a squirrel's balls looked like that. Thanks for that also.

I'm obviously not afraid of you or anyone else on here. I heartily invite you to come and visit us and see our operation anytime, and take as many pictures as you wish. I have wonderful employees (all ISA Certified Arborists), and we are in the business of trees and PEOPLE. You and others on here love to judge me (and others like me) from afar, and I'm cool with that, otherwise I would not even participate here. I am no better than you or anyone else on here. I am just honest and polite when I post on here, and I often feel like I am one of the few realists on treebuzz. I feed many families with my business, and couldn't be prouder of my success in this industry. I hope you are successful, too, and I hope you can get the word out on proper and safe tree care to the masses. I have said it before, but since you are new here, I'll say it again: there is no perfect rule in tree care, only best practices and guidelines to consider in each situation. No black and white, no always right or always wrong. Understand that I care for the trees ALMOST as much as the people who own them. In my world, people (family, employees, customers) come first with the trees in a close second.

Great sermon, huh? Didn't mean to go so deep. Love you guys, just hoping to influence the negativity that seeps in here. Fight the good fight, man.

I wouldn't invite an animal to come visit your workplace Noel. He'd probably bite your face off.

Noel, as always you've got my support.

Lorax, you quickly went from what I thought a passionate person to a joke (it's the constant a-b rhyme post theme, it kills any knowledge you might have and belittles what you are trying to do)

As for the idea. Why put a permanent label on a company if they don't know what they are doing is wrong and we don't know if they are willing to change?

I've topped tons of trees. I've spiked hundreds of prune jobs and used less then professional methods for tree care. I wasn't taught any better. From day one I was taught to view you folks here as "hippies" and unrealistic. I even scoffed at fellow Arborist in my area for not using spikes (Steve donaldson, also known as arbor23, I never did get to apologize my friend).

It wasn't til I took over as foreman that I started to educate myself about how to do my job better. That's when I decided to join the buzz and man the places it's taken me. I learned right from wrong. I was "reborn". I also made some great friends along the way that continue to help me along.

My point is, why label those who don't realize what they are doing? Educate the people. Educate the tree workers. Educate the homeowners. Fact is, as long as homeowners want there trees topped and are willing to pay for it then a tree worker will do it. As long as it's not you or I then we can rest easy at night knowing we did our part. Spend your time educating, not degrading.

No. My rant is never over

Anonymous posters never add anything positive.

Oh Mark, you gotta be careful when you use absolute words like "never" or "always".

I mean, look at Cashmonkeytreeboy.....he is fairly anonymous, and he contributes to my sense of self worth, as in, "man I'm glad I am not him".

That's positive in my view.

EZ, that's cashmoney, not cashmonkey. Kind of a catchy handle, wish I'd have thought of it. I like the way it rolls off the tongue: "CASHMONEYTREEBOY" yeah, simple and direct, right to the point.

You're right, Raven.

I was saying his name wrong on purpose, and that is wrong. He is the cashmoneytreeboy. The boy is paid cash money when he climbs or "kills" trees.

When I was a kid my parents bought me many illistrated books, and I would spend long periods reading. Anyway...two of the books were by Dr Suess, one was about the Lorax and the other was about a Cat in a Hat.

There was something inherently depressing about the story of the Lorax, not only was it a sad story but the physical appearance of the Lorax made me feel generally unhappy. After reading the Lorax I would spend long periods of time pondering my existence and wondering why Dr Suess had made the Lorax look so odd. As an adult I realised that Dr Suess may have been partaking in the consumption of illegal substances.
