Frans..... pic 45491 Euc tree is always getting hit by high winds and it's right in the open area. Last yr this tree drop two large limbs near were the kids do there activities and there was a great concern ...

pic 45483 speed line set up fiddle block, rigger plate ,loop runners , steel hard -trap beaners for the slide line or for the plate 1 aluminum bushing and a port-a-wrap not showned.

I slack the fiddle block after i've secure the speed line to a port-a-wrap or a steel figure 8 to my anchored point.

The fiddle blocks are not designed to bear the shock load of dropping limbs into the system.

I 've seen tree crews speed line big wood , the one thing you need to remember is to avoided the vector force and the drop , and make sure you have one strong anchor point..

MikePoor: SRT only way up these large trees . And it's a great work out.. /forum/images/graemlins/icon14.gif

TNTTREE.. I live in S.D , it takes me 2hr to get to the dock and 60 min to get to the island by boat . I've been working for 3 camps on catalina island for the last 14 yr and they take care of all the expense for us . It's a great place to do tree work . 3 days of work and i give my guys 1 full day off . Great fishing , hiking and night diving, they also supply me w/transportation on the island.. I only work on this camp 5 times a yr.. I have a full time job down in S.D . I can't beat that /forum/images/graemlins/jamminz.gif
