Cardo vs Sena

I’ve only ever used Sena, and quite frankly, hate them. I’ve been looking at switching away from Sena and came across Cardo. I am thinking about upgrading to the Cardo Packtalk Neo’s. Does anyone have experience with Cardo? Currently running a crew of 4 guys and looking for something that we don’t have to mess with the Bluetooth connection all day. Thank you!

Following. I'm equally as perturbed with SENAs.

I told the engineer (my apprentice) he could be a millionaire if he made a true tree guy made Bluetooth system. Lol

I switched to a different Sena unit called the spider ST1 mesh 2.0 . It uses a different connection system called mesh. It is far superior to the sena system you are used to and there is no pairing. There is a small button you press to connect to the mesh channel and then you are connected. No bumping out, no pairing headaches. The button is placed on the top of the unit and I have never bumped out of a conversation. You can still pair to your phone, but you can only pair to another unit that has "mesh" capabilities- so you have to equip your entire crew with these. I think you can have up to 24 people on one channel! I've only had 4 and it worked great.

We use Cardo Pactalk (not sure of model) at work (municipality with 4-6 people using the channel). I've never used Sena but I really like the Cardo. They pair readily, are compact and have just always worked in the 6 months I've been using them.

Do you have any issues with people dropping connection consistently? I understand it’ll happen here and there but is it enough for it to be frustrating? I’m very interested in the packtalk neo’s specifically.

I am in the process of switching over. A friend of mine uses the cardos and swears by them. Vastly superior product in all regards from what my research and told me. The packtalks will also still pair with senas so if you are around various coms systems, it appears to be vresatile.

I like the Sena price. Maybe bigger crews have more issues.

Idk that the problems justify twice the expense.

Someone made a button anti-bump device/ mod for Senas.

The problem I've had with the Sena is the battery wire getting caught on branches, etc...then the battery won't work any more - assuming the wire is broken somewhere in there.

The selling point for me was chatting with my buddy for 30 min. He then told me that he had driven home on his motorcycle with an open face helmet on. I had no idea. Not even close to what Sena offers for noise cancellation. Sold me

Sorry for the late response. No real issues. They seem to work very well for us. Sorry but I don't know the model name. They're quite compact which is nice.

Bumping this thread as my smh10-11 kits are just not working. Constant batteries failing, connectivity issues, and frustration.

Looking to get at least 4 of whatever we move to with mesh capabilities. The senas will be backups, so either cross platform/universal mesh would be helpful.

Looking heavy at cardo. Sena has pissed me off to no end. Lol.

Any input here? Don't relish dropping $300 per unit for them to still be shit.

I haven't used them, but at the Ohio ISA conference last year Speakeasy had their latest on display. He twisted and pulled the wires all over to show they were robust. There are more $...but if I were starting over I'd be tempted.

The crew I started with a few weeks ago has Cardo units, and they work pretty great in general. We have been having issues with keeping more than 5 people linked correctly. everyome can always hear, but randomly one person won't be able to talk, and it randomly jumps around who can't speak. We are using the mesh system too. Anyone know what that's about?
