Is this an SLR style camera or just a very upgraded point and shoot

Without knowing much about cameras, I would take an educated guess and say it is not just a point and shoot. The functions on it are endless. I think you can add extra lens. Zoom is unbelievable. I wish I could be more help. Maybe someone out there in the buzz will know more than I do about cameras, which isn't much.
