OK, people, this is kinda cool.... here's an update:

I don't want to speak too soon, but we have a shot at getting a sponsor for this here project. A real sponsor, who makes stuff that you use on the job
cool.gif
cool, no? More details on a need to know basis... which means I need to know them myself before I can tell y'all.
We actually are working to make this a cool project that will be fun, hopefully make the TreeBuzz family happy & proud & do some good while we're at it.
Pruninggal is collecting and notating all the pix, and Frax has a professional graphic artist friend who we may enlist to kick up the WOW factor a notch.
Me, I'm just generally here to cause trouble, so...
But what about YOU???

We need YOU to please submit the following:
1 PIX!

2 suggestions for which cause or charity you'd like to support... we will narrow those down, choose one and get this proposal rolling to "our sponsor" or "sponsors" if I can swing that.

3 here's a great suggestion from Tom D: populate the pages with significant tree-related anniversaries, dates and events... Al Shigo's birthday...Thoreau...Robert Frost was a 'treeguy'... Johnnie Appleseed...you get the drift. So send in your famous tree people or events.
Quotes too, I love nature quotes.

As a newbie on the scene, I gotta say this sure is a fun way to get to know some of you guys ;) THANKS to all who've sent in photos so far

WOTT... sistas, please join in! We need all the help we can get!!! And I think we're gonna need some women in this thing to get any of the guys to actually purchase a copy, so HELP!

Cheers friends

Tarzan,

Noooo, you shouldn't have taken any picture off.

Awww man.

Don't mind me, I just happen to say what i think a lot on treebuzz, it doesn't mean it's right though, and it doesn't mean that's what others think.

I admit, it's hard to hear anything negative about yourself or any negative toward any picture you submit (whether it's a picture of yourself or work you have done).

But after years on a public forum, you kind of get used to it and it's a good thing; to learn not to care so much about what others say.

Now, POST a picture again!

As you can see I speak my mind as well. I was having a bad day yesterday (also had a little whiskey to drink :) , and read everything and felt a little out of place . I am a Timber Faller at heart that now climbs trees...not an arborist. I don't "fell" trees, I "fall" them, I one hand chainsaws sometimes, and I don't ever want to have to wear chaps while climbing. I wear a tin hat that I have been through a lot of scrapes with, not a climbing helmet...I don't really know much about tree biology, or identifying deciduous trees (which I am not afraid to point out to my clients), but I sure as hell know a lot about the biology and can identify any conifer that grows in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, as well as how to fall them, pretty much, wherever I want, no matter what size. Anyhow, I was just gettin kind of defensive and wanted to be an online rabble rouser:) If you guys think my pic belongs then I will re-post. Sorry for bein a jackass sometimes...I just miss the good ol days of bein a Timber Faller, and, more importantly, my co-workers who I have a lot in common with:) Here are some pics...the only time I pose is when my Wife is takin pics of me while I work;)

Yes it is. Thanks to Dave, aka DSMc, he is my climbing Mentor...although don't associate my jackassedness with him...he is the man! He showed me that trick when I was first climbing on a RADS, and it is way better than unhookin carabiners! He also gave me a Unicender (among countless other tree gear including a petzl sequoia tree saddle!) that I just had rebuilt and will be rockin on when I get the work for it. Anyhow, Dave is awesome, and I am so very fortunate to have him and his lovely Wife to help me out...My loggers brain needs all the help it can get:)

kick A$$!!!! momentum is good! Tarzan, I too like a little whiskey every now & then, & realize I shouldn't even speak to people when I drink it, let alone get online :) but you're pretty safe to say whatever you want to say here... Be yourself.

Jesse, if you know another WOTT to goad into getting on here, please do! The 3 of us main women instigators have been coming to the realization that this better be a co-ed thing... guys are not (for the most part) going to buy calendars of guys.
But using the collage idea as a way of including as many people & their pix as possible is still out there... we're trying to come up w/ a format that will please all of the people all of the time.

Pruninggal... when did you post your pic? No comments? hard to believe, repost, please.

For myself, I will just say that I now know it is possible to climb in a mini- skirt. lol. I didn't say it was attractive, just possible

I know Phil, just busting chops. I had the chiseled physique when I cam home from Iraq because I worked every day before our missions, came home, no structure to keep me to it. I'm not fat and out of shape ( 5'9" 17# ) but not carved like I used to be, I'll still give a topless shot in.....................when it's warmer, LOL I'll get my wife, or one of my many girlfriends to take the photo, LOL

Its all good man. I'm not sure what a "pard" is but i'm guessing its some slang of sorts? As for grappling sometime I must warn you, my background is in wrestling..in high school. Plus I feel I should mention I am 5'6" and have the arm reach of a field mouse. So if that doesn't scare you off, we can grapple if ever we are to meet.

I see you are from Montana. Have you ever stopped to read the sign at the state border that welcomes you? It says, "Welcome to Montana, where the men are men and the sheep are scared"

I don't always look like that either, and it doesn't take any time at all for the look to go away it seems. Working out puts me in a good place mentally though, so I like to keep up with it. Its very cathartic to me, just like climbing trees.

I'm not so sure I believe you...every time I've tried to climb in a miniskirt I can never seem to get more than 3 feet off the ground...mostly because thats about the time the cops show up to arrest me. I'm not allowed to entertain at children's birthday parties anymore.
