C.A.T.R.

Okay, this is prolly going to be a lame post, but I have been botherd by the term, "Crane Removal" for the longest time.

I said, "Crane Removal" to a customer years back and she stopped me mid-sentence and asked, "What's a crane removal have to do with tree work?"

I think we should call them Crane Assisted Tree Removals (C.A.T.R).

Maybe it can evolve into CATR. If we use it in a plural form, then we can call it CATR's.

Heck, just call it a "crane job" and we (in the tree industry) would most likely understand it is a tree removal with a crane. With that said, we could then call them CJ's.

I know, I know; I'm just waisting everyone's time and splitting hairs... It is just a semantic thing...

But, for Pete sake, let's stop calling them "crane removals."

Here in Ontario, as part of the Arborist Apprenticeship - education portion "Crane Assisted Rigging" is taught. This is tree removal with a crane. We could call it C.A.R. and really confuse the issue.

Crane removal is the last thing to do before leaving the property, isn't it? Seems appropriate to me.

I my case, I sub out the crane operator so, he is the first person to leave the job. $$$

I think that is a good substitute. When I sell my first crane job I will definitely call it this...good words Jamin
