Looking for opinions and any help from the buzz fam if anyone's used these style trailers. I'm curious about the latch to switch from landing equipment to dumping say large logs. I'm worried dumping big wood could be problematic coming out damaging trailer.

There are a lot of those trailers around here. We looked at buying one, and while it looks like a nice trailer, I do not think it would be a very good log hauler. It is simply not built heavy enough for that, and with the frame mounted fenders, when you bow the sides of the trailer, they will hit the fenders.

I highly recommend looking at Belmont trailers, they are much heavier built, and will better hold up to logs. Also, you can have one built with a White Oak floor so it won’t get dented by logs, and equipment won’t slip around as much.

Call Pine Hill Trailers here in PA, I’m sure they can help you get one. They sell the Bee Wise and Belmont both, and steered us away from the Bee Wise due to their durability and lack of sidewall strength.

Thanks for your insight @Reach
You’re welcome! Wish I could have given you better news about the Bee Wise, I really like the looks of them, and the concept, it’s not not executed well enough for our industry.

Check out the reviews on Google for both of those companies, and you may learn some things.

Also, if you can’t find a Belmont, Pequea makes a pretty decent alternative. We have one now, it’s about twelve years old, bought it a couple years ago because the price was right and a friend of mine needed to sell it. It’s done well, but we have bowed the sidewalls a bit, and I’ve done a bit of reinforcing, with some more to come soon. Load your logs properly though and it will do pretty well. We have some novice operators who are a bit hard on things.
