buying bulk prussik cord.

how many of you buy your prussik cord in bulk? im kinda getting tired of spending $40 a year for one spliced eye-eye prussik cord. i can buy 20' of beeline and just tie fishermans knots. 20' is like getting 4 tied prussik cords for the price of one spliced. splices are convenient but not that much right? i know 40$ seems like a minimal price to pay but it seems like 20' for the price of one spliced is a much better deal to me. any input guys?

I buy op in bulk and just tie scaffold knots. I never have any problems with the knots getting in the way, in terms of bulkiness, and each cord lasts me about two months... cheap!

Used to buy bulk.Tied in an endless loop worked better for me. I connected with a Santa knot and half hitches to finish. Much easier to tie and untie. No problems to speak of.
I'll post pics this evening.
Time to get wet.

Mechanicals prussiks like LJ and the UNI beat prussiks into submission. Hands down! IMO.

Jesse, you need to invite me out to work with you. I'll teach ya how to splice.

Norm, that invite ought to occur in about January or so for you. Be a nice break from the winter.

Jesse and others, I would recommend the splicing workshop put on by John from Knot and Rope supply. Not only a great learning experience, but great comraderie with like minded folks.

Santa has some pretty cool rope tool inventions for keeping the Reindeer on the roof.

This is his best knot for securing wet, slippery, icey leather to make sure his Reindeer keep in formation through those Christmas winter storms.
